Research Interests
My research focuses on understanding coastal evolution at different times scales (from tens of thousands of years to decadal scale) within the Quaternary/Holocene from a multidisciplinary perspective (micropaleontology, geochemistry, sedimentology), including the Anthropogenic impact (physical and chemical) in the coastal systems.
My teaching aims to help students to become critical thinkers. Recently, I have developed a new introductory course: Geology Goes to Hollywood. In class, we use films to discuss geologic topics and critically analyze the science behind these movies along with discussions about diversity. We also incorporate Adobe Spark presentations to make it more dynamic. In addition, we relate the topics covered in class with real life events, making it more meaningful.
